2020 District Officer Elections
District candidates will have a deadline to upload a video of their speech and talent of April 29 at 3 PM. Ag Teachers have been provided the links to distribute to their candidates. Students will click this link to upload their video and the teacher officers will go in, make sure it worked and has sound and approve it. If it did not work, we have a couple of days to have them try again. Each category will have a unique link and any video format will work. They set up the website so it converts everything on its own. 
 
District candidates will need to upload their initial speech along with a runoff speech. There will be separate unique links for each. We are going to go ahead and have them upload their runoff speeches so that we can host our runoff voting the day after initial voting should we need it. This is to stay on Area 3's timeline of getting all info in a timely manner as they still plan on area elections being online on previously scheduled date.
 
Test and Interview for officer candidates - test will be given through qbank as normal on May 4. Officer candidates and their Ag Science Teacher have been sent a confirmation email with test and interview instructions as well as their interview time. Interviews will also be held on May 4. We will use the waiting room feature so that 2 candidates do not accidentally enter the zoom at the same time.
 
Applications - district and area candidates should email a completed and signed application to Nikki Reed and Natalie Terry no later than April 29 so that we can ensure all candidates have uploaded their information and we can have those area apps on hand to get to the area election committee.
 
Voting - Voting will be open for your delegates on May 4th from 8 AM to 3PM. Students must log in with their FFA Member ID which will prevent one student from voting multiple times. The system speaks directly to the roster system so it will only allow the correct number of delegates per chapter to vote. Once a candidate has completed voting it will send the advisor a confirmation email so you will be able to track which of your students has voted. Please note that they will only be able to log in one time and must complete all talent and officer elections in one sitting. The link has been sent to Ag Science teachers to distribute to their delegates.
 
Runoff - in the event of a tie, we will host runoff elections on May 5 from 8AM to 3 PM. Admin will approve the runoff speeches of those candidates and will send out the link before 8 AM May 5 for your delegates to vote. Please have the same delegates vote in the runoff as voted in the initial election.
